  • Fire safety training should never be simply about compliance. Once employees have been shown the real dangers and consequences of fire it’s been our experience that they become flag-bearers for good practice, potentially saving you £ millions in the process.

    As far as the fire regulations are concerned however, it is a legal requirement for all employers to ensure that a sufficient number of staff are given adequate fire safety training with periodic refreshers. Fire safety training should be included in all staff inductions, relevant to any risks specific to the business or type of premises, and must be delivered in a manner that is understandable by the employee. Finally, it should incorporate appropriate specialist training for staff tasked with specific fire safety related duties.
